The Battle’s O’er – A World War One Centennial Commemoration

November 11, 2018, marks 100 years since the end of World War One. A Century ago, the armistice that ended that terrible conflict came into effect at 1100 hrs. At last, the guns were silent.

The Tulsa Metro Pipe Band is proud to partner with our friends at Tulsa’s VFW Post 577, the Tulsa Police Pipes and Drums, and the City of Tulsa Pipe Band to mark this historic moment.

The College of Piping in Glasgow has asked pipers around the world to play “The Battle’s O’er” on November 11. Our three bands will come together to play this famous retreat march, and we invite everyone to join us for this once-in-a-lifetime act of remembrance. An estimated 2,000 pipers perished during World War One, and this is our way of paying tribute to their sacrifice and to the courage of the hundreds of thousands of other people who fought for our freedom a hundred years ago. It is also a time to give thanks for the men and women who today safeguard our liberties.

We hope you will join us for this tribute. All are welcome.
