St. Patrick’s Day Celebration 2018

With St. Patrick’s Day falling on a Saturday this year, the band was super-energized to get out and about piping and drumming across Tulsa and Green Country.

The action began on Friday evening at the wonderful Monkey Island Pub on Grand Lake. There, we were warmly welcomed by Tammy and hundreds of enthusiastic pub patrons for a full evening of rousing Scottish music.

We then zipped home, had a few hours of sleep, and began making music again all throughout a sunny Saturday. Our first stop was in the beautiful new backyard oasis at Dead Armadillo Craft Brewing. From there, we carried on to Kilkenny’s always awesome street party – wow, the place was packed with enthusiastic revellers! Then, we hopped in our vehicles and headed south to make a joyful Highland racket at McNellie’s South City, the Fox & Hound in Broken Arrow, and the CURA Gala at Southern Hills Country Club.

After a break for pizza and drinks, we steamed back north to entertain the thousands and thousands of people celebrating in Tulsa’s Blue Dome District. What an amazing way to cap off another brilliant weekend!

The Tulsa Metro Pipe Band is so grateful to everyone who invited us to play for them, and we sincerely appreciate all the donations folks made along the way. All the money we raised goes to buy equipment and fund our travel.
